James Chan, Ph.D., is president of Asia Marketing and Management, a Philadelphia-based consultancy specialized in advising U.S. firms on doing business in China.
Since he founded his practice in 1983, Dr. Chan has advised more than 100 U.S. companies in expanding their businesses in China and Asia. His clients include Kodak, Lucent Technologies, 3Com, Nationwide Insurance, American Management Association, Kingsbury, University of Pennsylvania, MidMarket Capital Advisors, Vulcan Spring & Mfg. Co., and many trade associations.
He is the author of “Secrets of Business Success in China” DVD and the book Spare Room Tycoon. He coined the phrase “the C-H-I-N-A formula” for selling American-made products and services to China.
